Cabezo mountain
A tour through various locations on the Cabezo de la Sal mountain (salt streams, flora micro-reserves, caves, etc.) with brief explanations of their natural and heritage values. The route, its duration, and the corresponding explanations can be adapted to the needs of each group. Optionally, there is the possibility of having a talk at the Environment Department.
The Salt Diapir
The Pinoso salt dome, also known as Cabezo de la Sal, is one of the best examples of a classic Triassic diapir in Spain and even in Europe, in addition to constituting a positive relief.
The itinerary through the Cabezo de la Sal is extracted from the publication Itinerarios Geológicos por la Provincia de Alicante para su utilización en el Bachillerato (Geological Itineraries in the Province of Alicante for use in Baccalaureate), published by the University of Alicante.
