TRES FUENTES DISTRICT
District Mayor Antonio Soro Alacid
Tres Fuentes is the smallest district in the municipality, although, due to its location in the middle of a privileged natural environment, it is a destination for many people when holiday periods or weekends with good weather arrive.
Located in the southeast of the municipality, it is 6.2 km from Pinoso and is situated 550 m above sea level, in the middle of a valley that falls from the foothills of the Sierra del Coto, behind the extraction zone of crema marfil marble from the Monte Coto quarries.
However, the resource that best identifies the enclave is the existence of the Tres Fuentes Nature Classroom, with its short-distance trails, camping area, or the recently restored quarries converted into flora and fauna recovery points.
There are few residents in the district, although there are scattered hamlets, such as those called Casas de Arriba, Casas de Abajo, Casa de Robles, Casa de Boca-Torta, etc.
In 1970 there were 29 inhabitants in the district, a figure that has been drastically reduced, given that only one of the houses is inhabited throughout the year.
In the mountains surrounding the district, there are numerous points of environmental, geological, or archaeological interest, such as the Cueva de la Moneda, where Neolithic remains have been located.
